West Nile Virus Positive Sample in River Trails

Image result for west nile virus

Thu, Oct 24, 2019 at 3:20 PM we were informed by Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) there has been a confirmed West Nile Virus (WNV) positive mosquito sample collected from a testing site near San Joaquin Trail in River Trails.

It’s extremely important that our community continue to work together to reduce the mosquito population by removing mosquito habitats from their property and remind your neighbors to do the same. The most effective means of protection, even more than spraying, is to stay focused on the reduction of the mosquito population: Please remove all standing water in empty flower pots, pet bowls, outdoor toys, gutters, etc. Maintain your swimming pool. When you’re outdoors, remember to wear repellent that contains DEET. Wear clothing with long sleeves and pants when applicable.

IMPORTANT UPDATES Continued vigilance when it comes to preventing the spread of mosquito viruses in our community is essential. · Since there have been West Nile Virus positive mosquitoes in our neighborhood, the city’s Code Compliance officers will be monitoring the area looking for litter and debris that could invite mosquitos to breed and nest. · You can help by keeping your grass mowed and trees trimmed. If there’s an issue with standing water at a location that is not city property, report it to the City’s Customer Care Center at 817-392-1234.

Thank you so much for all your continued efforts.

RIVER TRAILS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

We are proud that our area is well known for low crime and community support.  You, too, can help keep our neighborhood a great place to live!  For starters, you can join our Voluntary Homeowner's Association.

We are not your typical HOA!

River Trails Homeowner's Association is an organization owned and operated by VOLUNTEER members of our community.  Membership is open to ALL RESIDENTS of River Trails, whether you rent or own your home.  River Trails HOA does not have any restrictive covenants.  We do not tell you what you can and cannot do with your own home.  We follow city code, so whatever the City of Fort Worth allows, we allow.

Our HOA is more of a community activity and neighborhood beautification membership.

Most HOA's charge a mandatory $300+ per year fee and put a lien on your home if you fail to pay.  River Trails HOA simply requests a mere $25 annual contribution for membership, payable each September 1st, and to volunteer a little of your time or talent when and where you can.  That's not a big commitment and costs less than one meal at a local restaurant per year.  These donations are used for various neighborhood activities, maintenance, and other neighborhood-related projects, such as the beautification of the entrances and outer areas of our neighborhood to keep it looking clean and inviting and help maintain the market value of all homes in our neighborhood, costs for publishing, printing and distributing newsletters, and costs of various community events and activities.

Our Organization is responsible for:

  • Neighborhood Beautification
  • Citizens On Patrol & Crime Watch
  • Holiday Projects and Activities
  • Neighborhood Park
  • Newsletter/Communications
  • Welcome Wagon
  • Zoning Concerns
  • Miscellaneous Activities
  • Maintaining Website

Your annual $25 contribution covers the following:

  • Grounds Maintenance
  • Mowing & Trash Pickup
  • Holiday Celebrations & Awards
  • Monthly E-Newsletter
  • Public Relations Activities
  • Special Concerns
  • Fort Worth League of Neighborhoods
**We can do so much more if everyone in our community participates!  It's only $25/yr and a little of your time and talent!

Membership is $25.00 renewed annually on September 1st.
Make a difference in your community and get involved in your neighborhood today!

River Trails HOA was formed in 1993, and has built a reputation as an organization that gets involved when there are issues that affect our neighborhood.  Developers and City Officials consult with our officers regularly when new situations arise  River Trails HOA has a history of being the primary voice for the residents of River Trails, pushing hard to fight against and for issues that affect the quality of life and beautification of our community and it's surroundings.

A few of the many successes River Trails HOA has achieved or assisted with include: clean up and elimination of an unauthorized mobile home park, stricter guidelines for gas wells near residential areas, and a new park.  The successes of River Trails HOA are boundless and will continue to grow as membership grows and our community continues to develop.

To be successful, informative, and fun, we need participation from everyone in our fine little community.  Your contribution is one step closer to a successful community HOA.  Every annual donation and every volunteer effort, whether it's once per month or once per year, makes a huge difference in our small community.  And it's a great way to make new friends!  We invite you to attend our HOA meetings to find out more ways you can help and get involved in our great neighborhood.

We are glad to have you as our neighbor and we look forward to seeing you at our meetings and activities!

River Trails Homeowner's Association Needs You!!

Your community needs you to:
  • Ensure that our concerns are represented in the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County government and the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District decision-making process.
  • Ensure that our community receives the services and facilities we deserve.  For example: parks, playground equipment, emergency warning systems, immediate police and fire responses, code enforcement, street repairs, traffic regulations, etc.
  • have a voice as to the type of communities, businesses, and industries that will become our neighbors in the areas surrounding our neighborhood.
  • Keep the community safe by being a safe house for children, or participating in the neighborhood's Citizens on patrol and other crime watch programs.
  • Planning community and social events including beautification, entertainment (holiday/social), and neighborhood activities.

Your home is most likely the largest single investment you have ever made - protect it.  Bring your voice and expertise to the next River Trails Homeowner's Association meeting.  Location/Dates/times will be posted here on our website, on our Facebook Page, and signs will be placed at the entrances prior to the meeting or simply call a River Trails HOA committee member for details.
