Safety and Security in River Trails

Fort Worth Police Department

River Trails is located in Fort Worth's East Police Division. The Police Sector for our neighborhood is NPD 4, located at 5924 Boca Raton. The neighborhood is within the boundaries of the H16 patrol beat.
Our Neighborhood Patrol Officer (NPO) is
Officer Travis Ward
East NPO (Neighborhood Police Officer) Unit # H516
5650 E. Lancaster Ave. Ft. Worth, Tx. 76120
(817)879-4095

The responsibilities of an NPO are to act as a liaison for issues within the neighborhood, along with other responsibilities of a longer-term nature. NPO's are also engaged in addressing crime on a more focused basis and work closely with the school, churches, neighborhood associations, and Citizens on Patrol groups. They provide statistical information which advises participants when and where to patrol their neighborhood and work with the citizens to develop or expand the concept to fit their particular neighborhood.

Should your issue be an emergency situation, please dial 911.

Like all neighborhoods in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, River Trails is sometimes subject to criminal activity. Although activity has been minor and minimal, the residents of River Trails go above and beyond in assisting with keeping our neighborhood as safe and secure as possible. To minimize activity within the neighborhood, residents participate in one or more community crime prevention groups, thereby looking out for one another, our children, our property, and our surroundings. There are currently three levels of participation; Block Captains, Crime Watch Groups, and Citizens on Patrol. The available programs range from light involvement, such as simply being your block point person, to actually patrolling the neighborhood with statistical data from the local police department. All participation is strictly voluntary. Therefore, you determine just how involved you want to be. The more people who participate, the safer our neighborhood is. Let's have each other's back!

If you are interested in joining one or more of the available community crime prevention programs or simply want additional information, contact Bill Rhyan at 817-395-2888 or via email at rhyanbill@gmail.com

Fort Worth Code Compliance

The responsibility of Code Compliance is to create a cleaner, safer, and more attractive city through the prevention, enforcement, and abatement of code violations. River Trails takes Code Compliance and its mission very seriously in order to maintain a safe and clean neighborhood for residents and their children. To assist in these efforts, River Trails has volunteer Code Rangers. Code Rangers act as the eyes of Code Compliance and report possible code violations to our Code Enforcement Officer. As a result, courtesy letters are mailed out to the possible violator reminding them of the Code Compliance ordinances governing their surroundings and their potential violation.

A few common code violations include high weeds and grass, junk vehicles, debris, and open or vacant structures. If you have a code complaint, contact our Code Enforcement Officer at 817-880-4253.

Or you can Submit a Complaint Online.
